Known for being super popular and a hot spot for celebrities, Prime One Twelve is a super popular steakhouse. Our group of 8 made dinner reservations as part of a bachelorette weekend. Upon arrival, the place was packed and it took a solid 15 minutes just to make it to the host stand to check in. It appears that everyone had reservations so we had to wait an hour past our scheduled time to be seated.
The inside is dark wood and linen tablecloths, what you would expect from a nice steakhouse. Our server was friendly, witty, and helped us navigate the menu for the evening. After taking drink order, the bread basket was brought out. It had an array of wonderful bread including a fruit/nut roll and something that looked like a popover topped with a lot of crispy cheddar cheese - both were very tasty. Apparently someone quietly asked if our bride to be had a sense of humor and when we first arrived because as we were enjoying the carbs, another server appeared with a plate that held their kobe beef hot dog, presented it to the bride and had her take a bite. It took us all a few seconds to realize the massive hot dog sticking out of the bread roll but when we did, our table and the servers included had one of the best laughs of the entire trip. So should you want to order the hot dog, it's more than a foot long served on a what looks like a toasted baguette and served with mustard, ketchup, and sauerkraut. Many of us tried it and it was good!
Our table shared the signature salad and ceasar salads. Our server plated up the salad for everyone with most people raving about the signature salad. Entrees included the crab crusted grouper, the filet, and the ribeye. The grouper was fresh, flaky, and the crab topping was very flavorful. The steaks were all tender and cooked to perfection. For sides we had mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and creamed spinach. The mac and cheese was a tad salty but the others were your standard sides. We were all stuffed beyond belief but ordered a creme brulee for dessert. The creme brulee was a nice vanilla custard with the crisp sugar top. It came with peppermint brownies that were a huge hit with a good balance between the chocolate and mint and a more fudge brownie texture.
We all had a wonderful evening but be prepared for a wait and a long dinner service. The place was constantly busy with very little wait between tables being cleared and sat again. -

What the hell has happened to this place. I've been meeting my old friends from college here every quarter for the past five years. We have noticed that the quality has been slipping a bit, but last night it jumped the shark right over the cliff.
We arrived a little early to have a drink before dinner and was then shuttled outside around the corner to a different building next to the kitchen. We spoke up and were ultimately moved to a regular table.
We ordered wine, appetizers and a table full of food in order to celebrate. And after waiting about an hour every single item came out stone cold. I understand that things occasionally go wrong , but this was ridiculous. They reluctantly took everything back muttering something about it will take an additional 20 minutes to cook. Nothing showed up and two managers mumbled their way to a half-hearted apology.
Another hour later nothing was resolved and it was time to give up and go. No food, no explanation, no apology, nothing!! Of course we did get a bill for the wine.
There are a ton a steakhouses in Miami, take a pass on this place, over priced, over hyped and over rated. -

Service was A1 from the time we sat down. Danielle our server was great. We started with cerviche, king crab legs, house salad, NOLA style oysters, and kobe beef sliders appetizers. They were really good.
However our main course meals were fair. We ordered a porterhouse, seabass, crab encrusted grouper, chicken and lobster mac and cheese, loaded baked potato, and creamed spinach. The steak came out undercooked and Danielle suggested it be cooked a little more. It returned burnt. The mac and cheese and creamed spinach was overcooked. I ordered the grouper and the horseradish was so overpowering I sent it back.
It was ridiculously crowded so people are paying for the name not food. I'm unimpressed with the food here. Its too expensive to miss the mark. Next time I'm in SoBe, I'll probably go to STK. -

This was the go to steakhouse in SoBe... wish I made plans elsewhere but wasted my prime Sunday night dinner in Miami... this particular night they where out of your general cuts of steak like ribeye, filet, prime rib etc, literally the only thing left was huge $175 steak not ideal for a female on vacay returning to a hotel room. Needless to say I had salad for dinner, I was seafood out but the manager never came by. Although he offered our table a dessert...also, I was confused why the server allowed us to look over menu for a considerable time and when we were ready to order he then decided to mention the problem, wasted our time and he took wine glasses away without asking and I was looking forward to ordering a glass, very strange... One thing went right, I loved my French 75 from the bar.

The Japanese A5 Kobe Filet was amazing. The 5lb lobster was amazing. Everything was amazing. My friend ordered the deviled eggs which I thought was strange at a restaurant but when they arrived, they turned out to be the best damn deviled eggs I've ever had in my life. My son had the chicken and waffles and it was scrumptious.
Don't order too many sides as everything is family portion. Even the salad can feed 6 people.
Unfortunately we had to wait about fifteen minutes for our table even with reservations. Fortunately the food and service was worth it. Our server, Carlos was always on top of everything. We had no complaints.
